Until now, there is no specific effective treatment for dengue virus, so prevention is an important step in reducing the spread of this disease. This study aims to determine the relationship between family characteristics and basic sanitation with DHF prevention through the moderating variable of health promotion in Dom-Aleixo Administrative Postu, Dili Municipality, in 2024. The research method used was descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The study population included all heads of households in Dom-Aleixo Administrative Postu, with a total of 122,699 households, and the sample taken was 100 households. The data analysis technique used Pearson Product Moment, and took into account research ethics. The results showed that there was a moderate relationship between family characteristics and DHF incidence (r = 0.413). When moderated by health promotion, this relationship became stronger (r = 0.548). In addition, basic sanitation showed a very strong association with DHF incidence (r = 0.686), and this association remained very strong when moderated by health promotion (r = 0.545). Overall, the combination of family characteristics and basic sanitation moderated by health promotion had a very strong association with DHF incidence (r = 0.693). This study implies that health promotion plays an important role in strengthening the relationship between family characteristics and basic sanitation with DHF prevention, and that improving health promotion can be an effective strategy in reducing DHF cases in Timor-Leste.
Aniceto da Conceição Pacheco, Martinus Nahak Lino, Carlos Boavida Tilman Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Healthy and Science https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ajhsjournal.ph/index.php/gp/article/view/146 Fri, 25 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Analysis of the Relationship between Symptoms, Clinical Diagnosis, and Findings of CT-Scan Images to Pictures of Vertebrobasilar Artery Insufficiency https://ajhsjournal.ph/index.php/gp/article/view/127
Vertebrobasilar artery insufficiency (VBI) occurs when the blood flow to the posterior circulation of the brain, supplied by the vertebral arteries, becomes inadequate. Frequently, VBI is detected accidentally through CT-Scan in patients who do not show symptoms directly related to this condition. This study highlights the importance of comprehensive evaluation and early screening to improve VBI management. The main objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between clinical symptoms, clinical diagnosis, and CT-Scan findings to enhance diagnostic accuracy and develop more effective treatment strategies. A cross-sectional design was used in this study, with samples obtained from the medical records of patients diagnosed with Vertebrobasilar Artery Insufficiency at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta between January and April 2023. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test and processed with SPSS software. The patient population was dominated by elderly individuals (73%) and males (60.5%), although these differences were not statistically significant. The findings suggest that VBI symptoms vary based on age, with older patients more likely to exhibit stroke and hemiparesis, while younger patients typically experience headaches and vertigo. Screening for risk factors like cholesterol and blood sugar levels is crucial for patients over 45, whereas younger patients may require additional tests to assess cardiometabolic or hypercoagulation risks. Early detection through age-appropriate screening is vital for preventing serious complications and improving patient outcomes. These findings imply that systematic screening can help identify undiagnosed VBI cases, allowing for timely and more effective medical intervention.
Sudharmadji Sudharmadji, Greatavia Meanda Leslie, David Herryanto Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Healthy and Science https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ajhsjournal.ph/index.php/gp/article/view/127 Thu, 24 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 The Effect of Sigprocare HoCl 0.01% on TIME Management (Tissue Management, Inflammation Control, Moisture Balance, Epithelial Edge) of Diabetic Mellitus Ulcer in Bukittinggi West Sumatra Province, Indonesia 2024 https://ajhsjournal.ph/index.php/gp/article/view/145
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease cause by high leves of glucose in the blood, as well as accompanying metabolic disoders. One of the main factors causing diabetes mellitus wwounds is lifestyle, including the consumption of high-sugar foods. This research aims to determine the effect of using Sifprocare HOC1 0.01% on the wound healing proceess of diabeetes mellitus in Bukittinggi City. The method used was quantitative research with a Quasi-Ecperimental design and One Group Pretest-Posttest approach. The populastion in this research were all patients with indications of diabetes mellitus wounds in Bukittinggi City, and the research was conducted from February to June 2024. The research sample amounted to 10 respondents who were selected purposively. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the BWAT (Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool) obervation sheet and wound care SOP with Sigprocare HOC1 0.01%. The results of univariate analysis showed that the average diabetes mellitus wound score before Sigprocare HOC1 0.01% was 35.3, and after teatment the average dropped to 25.7. The result of biavariate analysis showed a significant effect of using Sigprocare HOC10.01% in the wound healing process of diabetes mellitus with a P value (0.000) < a (0.05). The implication of thi research shows that Sigprocare HOC1 0.01% is effective in helping in healing process of diabetes mellitus wounds, so it is hoped that repondents can apply its use and maintain wound hygiene to accelerate recovery.
Wenny Lazdia, Faridah Mohd Said, Nisha Nambiar, Wiwit Febrina Copyright (c) 2024 Asian Journal of Healthy and Science https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ajhsjournal.ph/index.php/gp/article/view/145 Sat, 19 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000
